Who is Stephanie Crane?

Why should you do coaching with me?

Is coaching covered by insurance?

I am a Licensed Master Level Social Worker, having graduated from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor; a Certified Personal Trainer from the National Association of Sports Medicine with specializations in Weight Loss and Fitness Nutrition; a Certified Case Manager, a Life Coach with JRNI, a Certified Integrative Nutrition Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a Certified International Health Coach. I combine social work, personal training and health coaching into a holistic blend of care.

In addition, and most importantly, I have lived some life. :) I am a single, divorced mom raising two boys, ages 12 and 20. My oldest son has recovered from autism through biomedical intervention and has been the inspiration behind her passion of working with  parents of children with special needs. I have been an advocate in the field of autism for years , having directed a  local non-profit autism organization and was one of the advocates  behind legislative autism insurance reform in the state of Michigan.

I am also mom to two dogs and three cats. When I am not working, I love to be walking in the woods with my dogs, working out at the gym early in the morning, or reading books on gut health and mindfulness.

Is coaching covered by insurance?

No. Coaching is not reimbursable by insurance. However, coaching offers the flexibility of doing non-traditional things that are not covered by insurance, e.g. taking clients grocery shopping or designing a personal workout at the gym, or meeting at a coffee shop.

Coaching can also be done online through a confidential platform I use called ZOOM, and coaching can be done via emails and text messages as well. Being a coach is more than just once/week in an office setting. I am here to partner with you through your challenges and your celebrations. Signing up for coaching with me is really that... I will be cheering you along, every step of the way... pushing you when you need it, and high-giving you when you meet your goals!

However, since Stephanie is also a licensed clinical social worker, if therapy is indicated, and not just coaching, Stephanie is now contracted to  bill for clients who have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan traditional, PPO or Blue Care Network. If you have one of these insurances and wish to use it, please contact me to see if your sessions could be reimbursed through  my private therapy practice or go to for more information.

Why should you do coaching with me?

I have over 30 years of experience combined, in the fields of mental health,  physical health, autism and integrative nutrition. You are not going to find many people with this combination of skills, education, and passion.

In addition, I am no stranger to health challenges! Ask me how I have overcome  (and am continuing to overcome!) my autoimmune issues, hormone balancing and thyroid cancer during our consultation! I am no stranger to personal challenges either. I understand what it's like to be a single mom, to raise a special needs child, and to go through divorce. I understand how it's easier to have a glass of wine or a bag of chips at the end of a stressful day then to go for a walk, and how important it is to put on your own oxygen mask first before being able to help anyone else.

I will not be someone preaching to you about what to do and how to do it, but someone walking alongside of you, pointing out some potential pitfalls along your journey and encouraging your every step, because I've probably "been there/done that".
